From Black Forest To The World

This week, Acaville goes fully international with live streams from the first ever Black Forest Voices Festival.

Led by some of the top vocalists in Germany, under the artistic direction of Tobias Hug (Bass, The Swingles, 2001-2012) this brand new vocal festival brings us to the enchanted town of Kirchzarten in the Black Forest region of Germany.

With performances by more than a dozen groups, including The Swingles, Unduzo, Elephant Claps, and Anna-Maria Hefele, don’t miss out on this very special a cappella experience – no matter where you are!

Acaville will be sending you audio (free) and video (for members), starting on Thursday, June 27!

New Tunesday – June 18, 2019

Just when we think a week in a cappella couldn’t get any better, we get a week like this one.

The Swingles

What happens when one of the world’s most iconic group of singers covers Radiohead? This.

Jacob Collier

I’m pretty sure the only way you’re getting me to listen to an 8 minute rendition of Moon River is by having Jacob Collier arrange and sing it. And is that Take 6 we spy?

Home Free

Straight from The Nashville Vineyard Church, Home Free takes on this simple yet sweet cover of this modern classic from Vince Gill.

Oh. You thought that was all? Nope. Here’s more, Home Fries – an original!

VoicePlay

Our Sing-Off alums have been busy this week – enjoy a medley of all of your boy band guilty pleasures.

Voctave

This Orlando group can do no wrong in our book. This time they’ve taken a Disney classic while still making you wonder just where all of those vocal gymnastics and fireworks are coming from. Pre-orders for their new album “Somewhere There’s Music” start on iTunes and Amazon music on June 24th ahead of a July 1st release.

Face

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Idyllic American countryside. A nod to one of the most iconic music festivals of all time. Colorado’s favorite vocal band. Still need more? Just watch.

MVP

A brand new original song from the ladies Down Under. It’s pretty catchy, if you ask us.

The Pennchants

Prince is an artist you cover with caution. However, when you have a soloist like Marjon Enriquez, by all means, cover all things Purple.

Main Street

Enjoy this little ditty from the 2017 BHS International Quartet Champions in honor of Father’s Day.

Flight Scene

This coed country group is back – this time with a Lauren Alaina cover.

Prismatics

Biggest lesson learned from this video? More groups should cover Shoshana Bean. Thanks for this little live gem, Prismatics.

New Tunesday – May 7, 2019

Nothing proves that music is a great communication tool like this week’s new releases:

The Swingles

Only The Swingles could release a soundcheck video as beautiful as this.

The G-Men

Fresh off their excellent performance at the Playstation Theater for ICCA Finals, this University of Michigan standout released their semi-final performance of their winning set.

Six13

In honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day, Six13 shared this.

VoicePlay

There may never be another Prince, but at least we can still enjoy great covers like this one.

From the Roots

Captured during their performance at SING! Texas, From the Roots shares a Sylvan Esso cover.

Triforce Films

Take a break from the Starbucks cup dilemma to enjoy the GoT theme song done right, er, a cappella.

UNC Clef Hangers

When you’ve got a whole a cappella group at your disposal, why wouldn’t you include them in your proposal?

MICappella

Speaking of using a cappella to make a big announcement, this Singapore group used their music to make one of theirs.

FORK

Sometimes the news is less than great, but a music video is still the way to say it.

The Lost Keys

This NYC-based groups brought a little Pomplamoose influence to this Hall & Oates classic.

Flight Scene

You can never go wrong with an Amy Winehouse cover.

Natural State of Mind

This high school group out of Arkansas certainly has made the rounds this spring. This song is one of the most powerful from their competition set.

Arvada West Vocal Chords

Bringing things back to the chapel, this high school choir gives a modern take on the origins of a cappella with this Bon Iver cover.
