The pioneers of the rock band without instruments are still paving the way. We caught up with them in Los Angeles where they returned to headline the 10th anniversary of the Los Angeles A Cappella Festival – a festival they helped bring to life when they headlined the very first one in 2009.
Acaville is at the Twin Cities A Cappella Festival, hosted by the Benilde-St. Margaret’s Red Knotes. There is so much great a cappella going on here and we are excited to share snippets from the festival with you.
Five member post-collegiate group, Due North, out of Minneapolis, kicks off the festival!
Encore, from Lakeville South.
Now & Then Singers from Lakeville North.
The Benilde-St. Margaret’s Red Knotes
Stay tuned, there will be more throughout the day, culminating in two, yes TWO, concerts live streamed on our air! The first is at 5pm Eastern/4pm Central; the second is at 8pm Eastern/7pm Central!
Things have been ramping up behind the scenes for well over a year in the halls of Disney Music (and the mind of Deke Sharon), as they prepared to launch the next great a cappella group.
The promotional tours are underway and US & Canada tour dates for 2019 have been announced, as well as teasers for their first album. The much anticipated first album from DCappella was released on all major music distributors today. Here’s a taste:
a cappella, Disney, DCappella, singing, new album, music
Not only that, but now YOU can also be a part of the magic!
Here’s how to get there:
Get an Instagram account (just kidding, we know you already have one!)
Record your group LIVE. No studio magic here – just you, your group, and your beautiful natural voices. Phone video is fine – no one is judging your cinematography skills (but maybe film in landscape and use a tripod 😉 )
Upload your video to Instagram. Tag it with:
#[name of the city you want to perform in]
And hey, tag us, too – we LOVE good a cappella! (@Acavilleradio)
3. Share. Share. Share.
Submit your entry by December 15th and check your DMs – someone will reach out to you there if you make it through!
And while you’re at it….don’t forget to spread the word about the tour.
With the support of alumni and guest groups Everyday People and Counterpoint, the Stanford Mendicants celebrated 55 years in harmony on October 27th. Acaville was there and we’re ready to bring it to you on the air!
Listen Friday, November 9th at 9 pm EST/6 pm PST to hear the whole concert!
Today at 4 pm EDT, we’ll be bringing you a SOLD OUT performance from Alexandria, VA!
Tune if for Platinum Moments, a celebration of the Alexandria Harmonizer’s 70th Anniversary. This 4-time international champion is fresh off an 8th place finish at BHS Internationals, where the chorus scores were off the charts!
They’ll be joined by special guests Signature Quartet, the 2018 International Quartet Runners-Up, and Toronto Northern Lights, the 2013 International Chorus Champions, now directed by Jordan Travis.
We hear there are plenty of surprises in store – hear it all live right here on acaville.org!
