New Tunesday – June 18, 2019

Just when we think a week in a cappella couldn’t get any better, we get a week like this one.

The Swingles

What happens when one of the world’s most iconic group of singers covers Radiohead? This.

Jacob Collier

I’m pretty sure the only way you’re getting me to listen to an 8 minute rendition of Moon River is by having Jacob Collier arrange and sing it. And is that Take 6 we spy?

Home Free

Straight from The Nashville Vineyard Church, Home Free takes on this simple yet sweet cover of this modern classic from Vince Gill.

Oh. You thought that was all? Nope. Here’s more, Home Fries – an original!

VoicePlay

Our Sing-Off alums have been busy this week – enjoy a medley of all of your boy band guilty pleasures.

Voctave

This Orlando group can do no wrong in our book. This time they’ve taken a Disney classic while still making you wonder just where all of those vocal gymnastics and fireworks are coming from. Pre-orders for their new album “Somewhere There’s Music” start on iTunes and Amazon music on June 24th ahead of a July 1st release.

Face

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Idyllic American countryside. A nod to one of the most iconic music festivals of all time. Colorado’s favorite vocal band. Still need more? Just watch.

MVP

A brand new original song from the ladies Down Under. It’s pretty catchy, if you ask us.

The Pennchants

Prince is an artist you cover with caution. However, when you have a soloist like Marjon Enriquez, by all means, cover all things Purple.

Main Street

Enjoy this little ditty from the 2017 BHS International Quartet Champions in honor of Father’s Day.

Flight Scene

This coed country group is back – this time with a Lauren Alaina cover.

Prismatics

Biggest lesson learned from this video? More groups should cover Shoshana Bean. Thanks for this little live gem, Prismatics.

New Tunesday – November 27, 2018

In addition to all of the great variety of a cappella you can hear ’round the clock here at Acaville Radio, we’re going to bring you some bonus releases each Tuesday to make sure you’re finding all of the latest and greatest this talented community has to offer.

Here are our favorites this week:

FACE

Filmed in Sweden, the video release of the holiday classic, “O Holy Night” from hometown favorites of Boulder, Colorado hit a million views within just 7 hours of posting today.

Main Street featuring Debbie Cleveland

The outgoing BHS quartet champions teamed up with Queen of Harmony and Webcast hostess Debbie Cleveland for a special edition of Wake Up, Jake at the 2018 AIC Show in Orlando.

A Cappella Academy – Ølamundo

Called one of the most profound performances in the history of Academy by founder Ben Bram, this group, comprised of students from some of the many cultures and traditions represented at A Cappella Academy sang “I Saw Light” under the direction of Erin Bentlage.

Muzaria

In honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day, Muzaria released an a cappella arrangement of the John Williams piece from Schindler’s List.

Shir Soul

In celebration of the fast approaching Hanukkah holiday, Shir Soul of NYC presents a parody of the well-loved song “Africa.”

Smooth Edge 2

The CAL representatives of Fort Wayne, Indiana released a smashing cover of a cappella alumna Sara Bareilles’ “Gravity.”
